It is unknown at this time whether Withey, who was rated as the 43rd-best recruit nationally and 8th at the position of center by ESPNU, will suit up for the Wildcats this season. If he transfers without permission he will have to sit out the season, lose a year of eligibility, and be unable to receive financial aid from his new school.
11/06	2:10pm	Nic Wise	G	Probable	Ankle	Wise has missed some practice time and an exhibition game this preseason with an ankle sprain but is expected to be at full strength for the regular season. The junior is the only true point guard on the Wildcats' roster and averaged 9.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game last season. He will be counted on for a large workload this season.

Ayers injured his knee after playing in the first exhibition and has not practiced since. Inflammation in Ayers’ knee has worsened, leaving Brady unsure if Ayers will return in a couple of weeks or miss the entire season. He was competing for minutes in the Arkansas State backcourt.
11/14	7:46am	Yima Chia-Kur	F	Out	Ineligible	Senior forward Yima Chia-Kur, ASU’s leading returning scorer, will be absent from the starting lineup when the Red Wolves open the season at Ole Miss this evening. Senior Chia-Kur is out indefinitely while Arkansas State petitions the NCAA to re-instate him. Consider him a non-factor until the team hears back from the clearinghouse. Prior to the beginning of the fall semester Arkansas State determined that 24 student-athletes were ineligible because of incorrect academic advisement. The school made an emergency appeal to the NCAA and 23 were granted waivers. Chia-Kur was the only athlete not granted a waiver. Chia-Kur started all 30 of Arkansas State’s games last season, averaging 11.1 points and 3.5 rebounds
11/14	7:38am	Trey Finn	G	Out	Foot	Freshman guard Trey Finn is out for the beginning of the season and possibly longer due to a foot injury he sustained during a conditioning workout this past week. Finn will be out 6-8 weeks and the Red Wolves are looking at the possibility of redshirting the freshman standout that joined the Red Wolves from Parkview High School in Little Rock. He was competing for minutes in the backcourt.

11/14	9:15am	Steven Moore	G	Out	Suspended	Arkansas-Little Rock guard Steven Moore was suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team, the school announced late Thursday. Due to the suspension, the junior did not accompany the team to California, where the Trojans will open the regular season at Cal Poly on Friday. Last season, the 6-foot Moore led the Trojans in both scoring (9.9 points per game) and assists (3.5). He also ranked third in the Sun Belt Conference in 3-point field goal shooting at 43.3 percent.

However, Cincinnati head men’s basketball coach Mick Cronin has announced that Nick Aldridge is leaving the program prior to the start of the 2008-09 academic term.
11/05	5:14pm	Cashmere Wright	G	Out For Year	Knee	Freshman point guard Wright tore his left ACL in preseason workouts and will miss the entire 2008-09 season. Wright was competing for the Bearcats' starting point guard spot and was expected to play significant minutes regardless of position.

The junior transfer from LaSalle saw very few minutes with the Pioneers but had an attractive combination of size and strength to be a force in the Ivy League. There has been no announcement regarding if Grimes plans to take a redshirt.

Vargas, a native of the Dominican Republic, moved to South Florida three years ago to pursue a basketball career but probably won't be ready to play for another couple of weeks.
11/06	11:34pm	Adam Allen	G	Out	Knee	Sophomore guard Adam Allen suffered a strained MCL in his left knee during the first few minutes of the scrimmage Friday afternoon and is out indefinitely. Allen arrived at the UF practice facility on crutches Saturday, but after undergoing an MRI Friday night, the injury wasn't as bad as originally feared. Allen averaged 4.0 points per game and shot 42.1 percent from 3-point range as a freshman.
11/06	2:17pm	Jai Lucas	G	Out For Year	Transfer	Lucas will sit out this season after deciding to transfer out of the University of Florida. The sophomore point guard started all 36 games last season for coach Billy Donovan but is leaving due to anticipation that his minutes will be dropping in the near future. Lucas averaged 8.5 points per game last season and was the Gators' top 3-point threat. He has not announced any schools of interest but was recruited by both OSU and Oklahoma out of high school. He is from nearby Bellaire, Texas.

11/13	4:38pm	Josue Soto	G	Out	Thumb	Soto transferred from Florida State last year and sat out the 2007-08 season. He fractured his right thumb while driving to the basket in practice last month and could return in January, in time for the meat of FIU's Sun Belt Conference schedule.
11/13	4:36pm	Alex Galindo	F	Out	Ankle	Galindo dislocated his ankle while conditioning in September and is expected to miss the first 4-6 weeks of the season. He is the team's leading scorer from last year and earned 3rd TM All-conference honors.

11/10	5:52am	Albert Jackson	C	Out	Ankle	Junior center Albert Jackson, after grabbing his team-leading fifth defensive rebound and seventh overall, landed on the leg of fallen teammate Zac Swansey and collapsed to the floor, writhing in pain. His agony was obvious as he pounded the padding of the basket and the floor multiple times before being helped off the court, unable to put pressure on his left ankle. Jackson is likely to be out for an indefinite length of time.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

11/10	7:20am	Ra'Sean Dickey	C	Out For Year	Europe	The college career of Georgia Tech's Center Ra'Sean Dickey ended when the 6-10 senior signed to play professionally in the Ukraine. Dickey missed the 2007-08 season with academic and injury issues. The power forward was set to return this season but left Atlanta after averaging 8.7 points and 5.1 rebounds in 89 career games. Dickey signed with Budivelnyk Kiev in the Ukrainian Super League.
11/10	5:29am	Lewis Clinch	G	Out	Ineligible	Georgia Tech senior guard Lewis Clinch will miss at least the first seven games of his senior season because he is academically ineligible. He will not play during the fall semester, which ends Dec. 12. He can return to the team after that if he regains his eligibility. Clinch started 14 of 32 games last season and averaged 9.0 points.
11/05	1:14pm	D'Andre Bell	G	Out For Year	Back	Senior guard D'Andre Bell will miss the season because of spinal stenosis but hopes to return next year following surgery with a redshirt. Bell averaged 6.6 points and 24.8 minutes a game last season.

He is expected back in time for the Rainbows' 11/14 season opener. Flemings was a first team All-American in junior college and set to being his first season in Division I.
11/06	2:33pm	Conrad Fitzgerald	G	Probable	Face	Fitzgerald might miss Hawaii's exhibition game against Chaminade but should not miss any regular season action as he continues to recover from various facial injuries. The freshman sat out last season with a non-medical redshirt.

The 6-foot-6 Long Beach, Calif., native was sidelined for 11 games last season, but still ranked second on the team in both scoring (10.6 ppg) and rebounding (5.1 rpg), while also setting a career high with 18 assists on the year. Although he only played in five of the Ramblers\' 12 wins last year, Young was a major factor in the team\'s success by putting up 16.4 ppg and 8.2 rpg, while connecting on 59 percent (26 for 44) of his attempts from the field, in those victories.

11/05	1:13pm	Damian Johnson	F	Out	Hand	Senior forward Johnson is expected to miss six weeks with a broken left hand. He averaged 7.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 22.6 minutes a game last season while ranking 21st in the nation in percentage of steals (4.7) and 74th in percentage of blocks (7.6).

Mississippi Rebels

Williams played two years at San Jacinto Junior College in Houston, before committing to the Aggies. Last season, he averaged 15.4 points and 5.3 rebounds while helping the Ravens to a 23-8 record. As a senior at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, Williams was an honorable mention McDonalds All-American.

Thompson will miss four-to-six weeks of the men's basketball season after he has surgery Friday morning to correct a sports hernia, according to Tech's athletic department. Thompson, a 6-foot-6 sophomore was diagnosed Wednesday with the injury. He played in 34 games last season, starting five, and averaged 5.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Tech opens its season Friday with an 8 p.m. home game against Gardner-Webb.

He was still nursing his foot a bit when practice began two weeks ago, but seemed fine until his hip began bothering him, which may be related to his foot.
