12/03	11:52am	Ronnie Steward	G	Out	Leg	Substitute guard Steward will be out about a month with a medical condition known as compartment syndrome. The RS freshman has had surgery on his right leg for the condition. Compartment syndrome is an affliction in which increased pressure within a confined space impairs blood supply and could lead to nerve damage if not treated properly. He started the first three games but has given way to true freshman Anthony ''Humpty'' Hitchens in the starting lineup for the past three game. Steward is averaging 3.3 points. Steward missed all of last season with a hip flexor. Coach Dambrot said he expects Steward back for the MAC season, which opens Jan. 10 at Miami.

12/04	1:11pm	Jeff Withey	C	Out	Transfer	Arizona freshman Jeff Withey finally got his release to transfer Monday after it was initially denied by the school. Withey told ESPN.com early Monday that he had stopped asking for the release but then he was "shocked" when the school gave it to him. He said the signed release ends a frustrating first semester for him. Withey said he will likely concentrate on two of the schools that recruited him out of San Diego's Horizon High -- Texas and Kansas. Withey, who originally committed to Louisville but said he doesn't have interest in the Cardinals now, plans on enrolling for second semester at one of those schools so that he can be eligible midseason of 2009-10.

11/10	6:55am	Patrick Beverly	G	Out For Year	Europe	Arkansas guard Patrick Beverly, who was slated to be the lone returning starter for John Pelphrey this year, told FOXSports.com that he’s signed with BDA Sports and will play professionally for a year before entering his name in next year’s NBA Draft.

Consider him a non-factor until the team hears back from the clearinghouse. Prior to the beginning of the fall semester Arkansas State determined that 24 student-athletes were ineligible because of incorrect academic advisement. The school made an emergency appeal to the NCAA and 23 were granted waivers. Chia-Kur was the only athlete not granted a waiver. Chia-Kur started all 30 of Arkansas State’s games last season, averaging 11.1 points and 3.5 rebounds
11/14	7:38am	Trey Finn	G	Out	Foot	Freshman guard Trey Finn is out for the beginning of the season and possibly longer due to a foot injury he sustained during a conditioning workout this past week. Finn will be out 6-8 weeks and the Red Wolves are looking at the possibility of redshirting the freshman standout. He was competing for minutes in the backcourt.

Warren is Bradley's top returning scorer from last season (13.2 points a game).

Egolf was injured in the second half after making his third consecutive start for the Braves. Egolf is eligible for a medical redshirt, meaning he will retain three seasons of eligibility. Senior Sam Singh is a 5th year player who has overcome injuries and will take on more responsibility at the 5 spot.

However, Cincinnati head men’s basketball coach Mick Cronin has announced that Nick Aldridge is leaving the program prior to the start of the 2008-09 academic term.

12/13	9:22am	Trevon Harmon	G	Questionable	NCAA Clearance	Trevon Harmon, a 6-0 combo guard from California, could be an intriguing addition to Waters’ rotation when he’s cleared to play by the NCAA. The freshman is expected to be eligible for his first action of the season Monday at Syracuse. However, he did not play in their upset win of Syracuse. The semester does not end until Saturday and grades have to be posted before playing status can be determined.
12/05	2:27pm	Charlie Woods	F	Out For Year	Head	Freshman forward Charlie Woods is expected sit out this season as a redshirt. He collided with teammate Trevon Harmon and suffered facial and head injuries. He said he still has some dizziness and has trouble remembering names. While he would rather be out on the floor, he's content to ride a stationary bike and dribble a basketball until he feels ready to put up some shots.

12/09	7:06pm	Casey Crawford	F/C	Doubtful	Foot	The Buffs will likely be without Casey Crawford for Wed (12/10) vs. Colorado State, who was wearing a boot on his right foot today. The 6-foot 9 forward/center had a stress fracture in the same foot last season when he was redshirting and was scheduled to see a doctor this afternoon. The sophomore transfer from Wake Forest is averaging just 6.5 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. After scoring 18 points off the bench against Harvard he only scored a total of three points in the ensuing losses to Stanford and TCU
11/28	3:21pm	Trent Beckley	F	Out For Year	Back	Junior forward Trent Beckley will miss the 2008-09 basketball season with a stress fracture in his lumbar spine. According to CU men’s basketball athletic trainer Larry Willock, Beckley’s injury does not require surgery, as the bone tissue is healing. Beckley played in 10 games last season. He was a walk-on during his freshman and sophomore years, and was awarded a scholarship at the beginning of the 2008-09 school year.

Peggau averaged 5 points and 3 boards per game off the bench this year.

12/06	3:26pm	Adam Allen	G	Out	Knee	Sophomore guard Adam Allen suffered a strained MCL in his left knee and might be able to return to practice in another two weeks, Coach Donovan said. Allen averaged 4.0 points per game and shot 42.1 percent from 3-point range as a freshman.
12/01	6:45am	Hudson Fricke	G	Out	Wrist	Walk-on guard Hudson Fricke is out indefinitely after he broke both of his wrists in a freak accident during a workout. According to FoxSports.com, Fricke was injured when a large, heavy ball burst while he was lifting a 95-pound weight. He has casts on both wrists.
11/06	2:17pm	Jai Lucas	G	Out For Year	Transfer	Lucas will sit out this season after deciding to transfer out of the University of Florida. The sophomore point guard started all 36 games last season for coach Billy Donovan but is leaving due to anticipation that his minutes will be dropping in the near future. Lucas averaged 8.5 points per game last season and was the Gators' top 3-point threat. He has not announced any schools of interest but was recruited by both OSU and Oklahoma out of high school. He is from nearby Bellaire, Texas.

Perkins had started all eight games and is second on the team with 12.4 points per game. He is also their leading rebounder. Perkins had back-to-back games with at least 20 points this season and back-to-back games with 11 rebounds.

12/11	2:43pm	Alex Galindo	F	Out	Ankle	Galindo dislocated his ankle while conditioning in September and is expected to be out until mid-January. He is the team's leading scorer from last year and earned 3rd TM All-conference honors.
11/13	4:41pm	Badara N'Diaye	C	Out For Year	Knee	Backup center N'Diaye will miss the 2008/2009 season after tearing his knee over the summer.
11/13	4:40pm	JC Otero	F	Out	Knee	Otero, a Miami Dade College transfer, tore his right knee during workouts in June. He is expected to be out until mid-January.
11/13	4:38pm	Josue Soto	G	Out	Thumb	Soto transferred from Florida State last year and sat out the 2007-08 season. He fractured his right thumb while driving to the basket in practice last month and could return in January, in time for the meat of FIU's Sun Belt Conference schedule.

Miller suffered the break in Georgia Tech's game against UIC when he received an elbow to the face. He is also dealing with a minor concussion. Georgia Tech head coach Paul Hewitt is hoping for a return in the middle of January. The starting point guard is averaging 8 points and 5.7 assists per game, the latter mark being good for second in the ACC.

12/13	11:28am	Alex Rubin	G	Out	Foot	Rubin suffered a broken left foot in late October. The cast is off and Rubin can take off his protective boot during practice. But he still can’t go up and down the court yet. Even when Rubin can resume live practicing with his teammates, he is probably a couple weeks away from thinking about getting back on the court during a game. By that time, the season will be almost halfway over.

He started at shooting guard last season averaging 10 points per game but was expected to shift to point guard this year. Rashad Reed, a junior transfer, has been getting most of the minutes at the point in Marshall's absence.

12/19	8:05am	Gary Springer	F	Questionable	Ankle	Springer rolled his ankle and has missed Iona's last couple of games. He is questionable to return to action Saturday 12/20 against Ohio State but Iona head coach Kevin Willard is extremely tight lipped with the media and is not disclosing much regarding Springers' condition. Springer was leading the anemic Iona offense this year with 15 points and 6.5 rebounds at the time of his injury.

Lickliter said Tucker was "probable" to play Saturday against Drake. Tucker was averaging 13.1 points per game for Iowa before the suspension. He had 24 points in an 87-68 loss to West Virginia on Nov. 28, including shooting 6-of-9 on 3-pointers showing his immense potential.

He said he will not be provided results of the testing until this afternoon, making it unlikely that he will be cleared for Saturday's game vs. Northeastern. "It's something that I don't want to push," James said. "If they tell me to sit out, I'm gonna sit out. If it was my knee, then I'd try to play through it, but it's my heart." The ailment was discovered in between the Dukes' 2nd and 3rd games and James hasn't played since.

Although he only played in five of the Ramblers' 12 wins last year, Young was a major factor in the team's success by putting up 16.4 ppg and 8.2 rpg, while connecting on 59 percent (26 for 44) of his attempts from the field, in those victories.

Moore is a top guard option off the bench when fully healthy as he plays 16 minutes a night and averages nearly six points per game.

UNC players were asked by UNC coach Tad Boyle not to comment on the departure.Mason, a a 6-foot-6 junior, started all six games for the Bears. He was 4th on the team in scoring, averaging 9.7 points per game and was the team’s 2nd-leading rebounder at 5.8 per game. Mason was in his third season at UNC. The departure of Mason will leave the Bears short-handed as they prepare to play Creighton in a 6:05 p.m. game Saturday as part of the Las Vegas Classic.

Jackson averaged 31.1 minutes of playing time, 7.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists as a starter in all 36 Toreros games last season. He has averaged 25.8 minutes, 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in five of USD's eight games this season.

"Any player can still play while the case is under appeal," Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim told ESPN.com on Wednesday, adding he will allow Devendorf to do just that. Because the school will be on winter break at the end of this month, that decision could come as late as Jan. 12. In the meantime, Devendorf is permitted to be on campus, go to class and yes, play in basketball games -- as long as his coach decides he should.

Davis rejoins the team at a critical time after three of his teammates received academic suspensions for the second semester. Davis, Jr. averaged 2 points and 1.5 rebounds as a reserve last season but will likely be pressed into a much larger role this year.

He had the first surgery on his wrist in the spring of 2008 and the second in the latter portion of the summer. He is expected to apply to the NCAA for an injury redshirt in the 2008-09 season and expects to make a healthy return for his junior year in 2009-10.

Stepheson played in 37 games for the Tar Heels last season. He averaged 4.3 points and 4.5 rebounds as a reserve for North Carolina. The product of Harvard-Westlake High came to USC to be closer to his family, which is experiencing some health issues. That’s the basis of his appeal, which is in the hands of the NCAA compliance office.

But that does leave the door open for McPherson to possibly return by the big Jan. 3 game against Butler. The senior point guard averaged 10 points and 2.1 rebounds per game last season.
