When asked if Jefferson was the new starter, Calhoun said, "He has to earn it every week. Both Tim and Shea are going to have to play as if they are both veteran players." Jefferson has been upgraded to "expected to be available" for week 8.

10/12	9:38pm	Kevin Folger	WR	Out	Knee	The backup wideout had been starting in place of injured senior Ty Paffet but is expected to miss at least two more weeks with a knee injury. Folger leads the team in receptions and receiving yards. Paffet returned to the starting lineup in week six and will likely take on more of the receiving responsibilities for the Falcons.

09/20	6:49am	Spencer Armstrong	WR	Out	Fibula	Armstrong has a fractured fibula and will be out until mid-November. He suffered the injury late in week 3's game while recovering an onside kick.

Johnson has been released from the hospital, but did not play in the last two games. Senior Dennis Kennedy has taken over the starting tailback duties.

10/11	6:27am	Ryan Bain	DT	Out For Year	Foot	Bain has not played this season due to a foot injury. But he has been banned for the rest of the season after an NCAA ruling about an over-the-counter supplement he took. Akron is short on the DL with one starter out and the other hampered by injury. RS freshman Dan Marcoux has been starting in Bain's place.
09/25	7:57am	Alex Allen	RB	Out For Year	Hip	Allen left the week 3 contest with a frightening hip injury after accumulating 36 yards on seven carries. Allen had to be taken off the field on a stretcher while immobilized and is out for the season. Dennis Kennedy took over the starting duties against Army and combined with Andrew Johnson for 128 rushing yards.
09/19	8:34am	Cowles Stewart	DL	Out For Year	Leg	RS freshman Cowles Stewart started against Wisconsin and Syracuse but suffered a season-ending hand injury. The Zips will rely on sophomore Almondo Sewell and RS freshmen Dan Marcoux and Joe Rash on the defensive line.

10/13	10:37am	Preston Dial	TE	Probable	Knee	Reserve tight end Preston Dial had minor surgery to repair loose cartilage in his knee. He returned to practice last week in a limited role but did not play in the Kentucky game.
10/13	10:35am	Mike McCoy	WR	Probable	Hamstring	McCoy missed the Kentucky matchup due to a pulled hamstring but is expected to be back in the starting lineup for Ole Miss.
08/21	9:43pm	Ezekial Knight	LB	Out For Year	Illness	Knight has been forced to give up football altogether. He has a heart condition that has prevented him from playing at all this year. Knight started 12 games in '07 with 64 tackles and 3 sacks. Freshman Jerrell Harris is slated to replace him.

10/01	9:18am	Gerald Munns	LB	Out For Year	Personal	Arizona State's defense took a big hit this week with the announcement that starting MLB Gerald Munns is done for the year while he deals with undisclosed personal issues. Senior Morris Wooten will replace Munns with junior Mike Nixon and true freshman Shelly Lyons providing depth. Wooten was suspended for the first three games but played well against Georgia, leading the Sun Devils with eight tackles.

He participated in individual workouts Tuesday and may or may not be able to help out at Kentucky. Zach Stadther started for Mitchell at Auburn and had three tackles.

10/12	7:40pm	Jamar Love	CB	Out	Thumb	Team captain Jamar Love had surgery on his thumb Wednesday, and and is projected to miss at least two weeks, Coach Bobby Petrino said. Love ranks second on the team with 31 tackles and leads the Razorbacks with seven pass breakups. Sophomore Ramon Broadway moved up in Love's absence and started week 7.
10/12	7:39pm	Michael Aguirre	OL	Questionable	Leg	The Razorbacks lost tackle Michael Aguirre to a leg injury on the first offensive snap of the week 6 loss to Florida. Grant Freeman got the first significant action of his career replacing Aquirre.
09/09	1:03pm	Mitch Petrus	OL	Out For Year	Eligibility	Coach Petrino said Monday that guard Mitch Petrus will redshirt this season. A 12-game starter in 2007, Petrus has been practicing but has not dressed for either of the first two games. Petrino has given no specifics about why Petrus isn�t playing. School officials have said there has not been a violation of NCAA rules, which suggests the possibility of academic eligibility being involved.

Auburn's secondary was already thin when Aairon Savage was lost for the year due to a knee injury and this only emphasizes their need for quality depth.
08/17	2:22pm	Aairon Savage	CB	Out For Year	Knee	Savage suffered a dislocated knee cap and torn ACL and MCL after a collision in practice and is out for the season. He was Freshman All-American at safety before moving to CB last year and becoming one of the team's leaders. Junior Walter McFadden looks to be Savage's replacement but Auburn's CB depth will be filled by incoming true freshmen.

He was moving his arms and legs after the lengthy procedure. Love entered the game as the nation's leader in yards receiving per game (144.3). Love is expected to "live a normal and happy life" according to a statement released by the university, but he probably won't ever play football again.

O'Neill is tied for second on the team with 10 catches through four games. O'Neill has two receiving touchdowns which ties him for the team lead and 131 yards, good for fourth on the team. Sophomore Tommy Gallarda is listed as the team's starter for Saturday's game with Southern Miss.

The WR is the Eagles' second leading receiver, hauling in 15 receptions for 230 yards and a touchdown this season.

The Eagles' leading sack monster from last year will take a medical redshirt and be replaced in the starting lineup by junior Austin Giles.

He is on target to play in Saturday's game with TCU and is operating at essentially a "full go." Nelson is said to be ready for everything but perhaps hard cuts or stops that might be required on special teams units.

10/15	10:38am	Rulon Davis	DE	Out	Foot	Davis injured his foot in week 5 against the Rams and was helped off the field at halftime. He is likely out until mid-November. Coach Tedford isn't allowed to comment on the details of Davis's injury because the senior did not sign a waiver allowing coaches to publicly discuss his injuries but he could be out for up to six weeks.

RS freshman Shane Vereen took over the starting tailback job in Best's absence. Best leads the nation in all-purpose yards (215.5 ypg) and has been upgraded to probable for Arizona.

Longshore sat out the past few practices during the bye week because of a slipped disc in his back. He suffered the injury lifting weights but said he felt fine after practice Sunday. Longshore is expected to compete against Kevin Riley for the starting job again this week.
09/29	10:05am	Chris Guarnero	OL	Out For Year	Toe	Guarnero will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn tendon in his big toe, Cal coach Jeff Tedford said. RS sophomore Mark Boskovich has started in his place.
09/11	8:12am	Kendrick Payne	DL	Out For Year	Knee	Payne had arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee and will miss the season.

10/15	10:02am	Dan LeFevour	QB	Probable	Ankle	MAC Offensive Player of the Year Dan LeFevour limped off the field in the second quarter of the Temple game with an ankle injury and was replaced by Brian Brunner. Butch Jones said the injury was not serious and should be back in the starting lineup for the W. Michigan game. Brunner did look solid in LeFevour's absence.

10/15	8:42am	Brent Carter	RB	Out For Year	Knee	The #3 RB tore his ACL in the first half 10/11 @ Wisconsin and will miss the rest of the season.
10/12	4:46pm	Mike Lucian	OL	Questionable	Ankle	Lucian has missed the past 4 games after suffering a sprained ankle 9/13 @ Syracuse but has resumed practicing with the offense. He has played a little on the defensive line and prepared at tight end as well in times of need.

Murray will undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL early next week. He was expected to be a starting contributor to the linebacking corps this season. Austin Ransom has filled in impeccably for Murray and will continue to do so.
10/13	8:19am	Greg Cross	QB	Probable	Hand	Pittsburgh backup QB Greg Cross suffered a hand injury in the Panthers last game against USF. Reports indicate that Cross has improved tremendously during the bye week and should be ready to play as backup to starter Bill Stull if needed.
10/13	8:16am	Derek Kinder	WR	Probable	Knee	Kinder suffered a right knee injury and had to leave the Panthers last game against USF. The knee is the same one he had season-ending surgery on last year. Early reports indicate that Kinder shouldn't miss any time so consider him probable for this weekend's match-up with Navy. Kinder leads the Panthers in receiving with 19 grabs for 197 yards and a score in five games.
09/25	8:46am	Adam Gunn	LB	Out For Year	Neck	Gunn had surgery to repair a cracked vertebrae in his neck and will miss the season. The injury occured when he collided with teammate Scott McKillop during the season-opener. Gunn, who became a starter last season, played every down on defense and also was on the kickoff team before sustaining a concussion during the third quarter Saturday.
08/16	12:32pm	Doug Fulmer	DE	Out For Year	Knee	Fulmer tore a ligament in his left knee that required surgery. This is the third year in a row injuries have ended the starter's season. He'll be replaced by Jaball Sheard who had 3 tackles in '07.

10/15	9:02am	Jason Werner	LB	Doubtful	Back	The OLB has been downgraded and is not expected to play this week. He had surgery in September to remove a bone chip from his back. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Joe Holland. Werner has yet to play this season after suffering the back injury prior to the season.

08/23	11:05am	Jaycen Taylor	RB	Out For Year	Knee	Taylor will miss the 2008 season with a torn ACL. Taylor rushed for 560 yards and 4 touchdowns in 2007 and was expected to split carries with Kory Sheets. Taylor will now redshirt and return for his senior season in 2009.
