Air Force Falcons Next game: Air Force at Colorado State on 10/31

He was forced to sit out the Wyoming game but has been upgraded to probable to play at Utah. The junior was tied for fourth on the team in tackles before the injury. With Lamendola and Hennessey both out for the year, HC Calhoun is looking for some players to step up.
10/18	2:54pm	PJ Adeji-Paul	CB	Questionable	Knee	Adeji-Paul suffered a knee injury and has been out nearly a month. Adeji-Paul was starting in place of junior Reggie Rembert who had been serving a suspension. Sophomore Josh Hall moved into the No. 2 spot while Adeji-Paul is on the shelf.
10/12	11:43am	Patrick Hennessey	LB	Out For Year	Shoulder	Hennessey suffered a shoulder injury and HC Calhoun said that the junior will miss the remainder of the season. He had nine tackles in the first two games of the season and freshman Alex Means took over his vacant spot in week four. Means ranks fourth on the team with 28 tackles.
10/12	11:36am	Ken Lamendola	LB	Out For Year	Knee	The Falcons' loss at Navy last weekend was costly as Ken Lamendola suffered an injury to his knee and will miss the remainder of the season. The junior injured the MCL in his left knee. Lamendola lead the team in tackles in 2008 (118) and was second on the team this year despite playing through a couple of other injuries. Senior John Falgout replaced him at Navy and made a team high 13 tackles. Falgout takes over the starting job with freshman Brian Cocoran listed as his backup.
08/21	10:09pm	Anthony Hemphill	WR	Out For Year	Left Team	Senior Anthony Hemphill has left the Air Force football program. He was listed as the Falcons' backup X receiver in camp. He played in three games a year ago.
08/09	1:29am	Kyle Lumpkin	TB	Out For Year	Academics	Lumpkin will sit out the 2009 season due to academic reasons. He ranked third on the team in rushing last year. Starting tailback Asher Clark will be backed up by junior Savier Stephens.

10/20	9:10am	Manley Waller	CB	Questionable	Ankle	Waller suffered a high ankle sprain in week seven against Buffalo and is questionable to play in week eight against Syracuse. If Waller cannot go, expect to see Marvase Byrd in the starting lineup.
10/20	9:08am	Deryn Bowser	WR	Out For Year	Leg	Bowser, the Zips leading receiver, has been lost for the year after x-rays revealed he broke his leg in a week seven loss to Buffalo. Bowser had hauled in 21 passes for 307 yards and five TDs on the year, making him the only Akron player with a touchdown reception. Andre Jones is expected to move from safety to receiver to replace the depth lost by Bowser's injury.
10/20	9:07am	Aaron Williams	LB	Out For Year	Arm	Williams will not play again this season after breaking his arm in a week seven loss to Buffalo. Amin Kabir is slated to step into Williams' starting role for the rest of the season
10/17	8:18am	Matt Rodgers	QB	Out For Year	Knee	Rodgers injured his knee late in the second quarter of the week six game vs. Ohio and did not return. He will miss the remainder of the season with torn ligaments. The RS sophomore was replaced by true freshman Patrick Nicely, who saw his first action for the Zips.
10/10	9:31am	Chris Jacquemain	QB	Out For Year	Suspension	Jacquemain has been suspended indefinitely from the Zips' football team for a violation of team rules. He will not return after his suspension. Sophomore Matt Rodgers has taken over the starting duties in place of Jacquemain. His backup will be either RS freshman walk-on Jared Wackerly or freshman Patrick Nicely.
09/23	11:43am	Cowles Stewart	OL	Out	Suspension	Stewart has been charged with felonious assault for repeatedly punching a man during a fight last month and has been suspended from the team. The sophomore started a couple of games as a freshman before being injured. He since has been relegated to backup duties.

10/22	9:29am	Javier Arenas	CB/KR/PR	Probable	Rib	Senior Javier Arenas practiced all week with the first string defense at his starting CB role and is probable for Tennessee. Arenas was a late scratch for the South Carolina game because he could barely move according to head coach Nick Saban. Arenas is a starting CB for the Crimson Tide and one of the most electrifying kick and punt returners in the nation.
10/22	9:27am	Rod Woodson	S	Questionable	Knee	True freshman SS Rod Woodson is expected to be available for the Tennessee game despite a patella tendon injury. Woodson's injury could require surgery at some point, but head coach Nick Saban wants to play it "day-by-day" for now. Woodson is a reserve SS for the Crimson Tide.
10/21	10:28am	Kenny Bell	WR	Out	Shin	True freshman WR Kenny Bell has not played all season because of debilitating shin splints that keep him from practicing. He does not participate in any contact drills during practice as of Sept 21. His status for the rest of the season is out indefinitely, making him a likely redshirt candidate.
10/19	8:51am	Jerrell Harris	LB	Probable	Suspension	Sophomore SLB Jerrell Harris served a six-game suspension regarding his eligibility but did not play against South Carolina. His status for the Tennessee game is probable. Harris received a laptop from Athens, AL native Curtis Anderson, the same man who paid for a fishing trip for fellow Alabama sophomores Mark Ingram and Julio Jones. Harris, a reserve SLB (No. 2 on the depth chart), played in 10 games as a true freshman in 2008.
09/29	11:15pm	Jeramie Griffin	FB	Out For Year	Torn ACL	Sophomore FB Jeramie Griffin will miss the 2009 season with a torn ACL suffered during fall preseason camp. Griffin was a part of the fullback and running back rotations for the Crimson Tide in 2008.
09/28	6:59am	Dont'a Hightower	LB	Out For Year	Knee	Sophomore LB Dont'a Hightower will miss the rest of the 2009 season after undergoing surgery to repair ligament damage according to head coach Nick Saban. Hightower is known as one of the best pass-rushers in the SEC. The No. 1 WLB was replaced in the Arkansas game by fellow sophomore Courtney Upshaw.
09/15	8:11am	Damion Square	DE	Out For Year	Torn ACL	Redshirt freshman DE Damion Square tore his ACL during the Sept 12 game against Florida International and will miss the rest of the 2009 season. "It's really too bad," Saban said. "He got redshirted last year and was promising freshman. We were hopeful that he would give us great depth. But it gives somebody else an opportunity to go out and play."

08/26	5:52am	Evan Cardwell	C	Out For Year	Medical scholarship	Reserve center Evan Cardwell was placed on medical scholarship. The senior was slated as the No.3 center on the depth chart. Cardwell made seven starts during his Crimson Tide career.
08/26	5:44am	Charlie Higgenbotham	LB	Out For Year	Transfer	Junior MLB Charlie Higgenbotham will transfer to South Alabama. The reserve MLB (No.2 on depth chart) recorded four tackles in 2008. Higgenbotham's departure leaves the Crimson Tide without much depth at the MLB position.
08/26	5:41am	Chris Jackson	WR	Out For Year	Transfer	Sophomore WR Chris Jackson will transfer to Georgia Tech. The reserve WR moved from DB, where he made six tackles as a true freshman in 2008. As a wide receiver, Jackson was slated to be third-string behind Marquis Maze and Brandon Gibson.
08/17	4:37pm	Brandon Fanney	LB	Out For Year	Transfer	Fanney has been granted permission to transfer from UA. The 2008 starter was third on the team with 66 tackles - nine for a loss. With Fanney's departure look for senior Eryk Anders to take over the starting job.
08/07	6:48pm	Prince Hall	LB	Out For Year	Transfer	Hall will play his senior season at Central Washington. The often-troubled linebacker has been suspended a number of times during his time at Alabama and decided it was time leave the program.

The Wildcats ran most of their offense through Gronkowski and will undeniably miss him. In the absence of the first-team All-Pac10 player Arizona's offense has noticeably lacked in production through the air. Junior A.J. Simmons has taken over the starting job.
08/09	1:38am	Scott Smith	DE	Out For Year	Kicked Off Team	Smith's scholarship has not been renewed and he is no longer on the football team. The sophomore reserve transferred from Cal a year ago and will not play in 2009.
08/09	1:34am	Kaniela Tuipulotu	DT	Out For Year	Transfer	Tuipulotu will transfer from Arizona to Hawaii. He started seven games in 2008 for the Wildcats but wants to be closer to home. He was listed as the No. 2 DT for 2009 as senior Earl Mitchell has a lock on the starting job.

10/23	11:07am	Garth Gerhart	OL	Probable	Toe	Gerhart has turf toe and sat out the Washington game. He started in week six at Wazzu, his first game back since the season opener but was not able to practice last week. Brent Good got his second start at right guard with backup from Adam Tello. Gerhart has been upgraded to probable for the road trip to Stanford.
10/22	10:28am	Omar Bolden	CB	Doubtful	Knee	Bolden has a sprained knee and sat out the last two games. Terell Carr started both games at corner opposite Pierre Singfield. Bolden is also one of the Sun Devils' kick returners and was replaced by Keelan Johnson and LeQuan Lewis. Bolden is doubtful for Stanford in week eight according to HC Dennis Erickson.
10/21	11:05am	Zach Schlink	OL	Out	Knee	Schlink had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to remove cartilage and the sophomore has yet to play this year. He is not expected to play in the week eight game at Stanford.
10/20	12:07am	Matt Hustad	OL	Probable	Knee	Hustad is dealing with an injured knee and sat out the past couple games. He is expected to play against Stanford according to head coach Dennis Erickson. The offensive line is banged up as a whole and HC Erickson is searching for some players to step up.
10/20	12:05am	Dimitri Nance	RB	Probable	Knee	Senior RB Dimitri Nance sprained his knee against Washington, but he is expected to play in the Stanford game. Nance is the starting RB for the Sun Devils, a role he has held on to since the ULM game (Sept 19).
10/02	10:09am	Mike Marcisz	OL	Out For Year	Shoulder	Marcisz suffered a shoulder injury that is going to require surgery. The sophomore will miss the remainder of the season. Walk-on Brent Good did a commendable job in the second half at Georgia and HC Erickson is inserting him into the starting lineup this weekend.

08/18	6:32pm	Brandon Smith	WR	Out	Knee	Reserve receiver Brandon Smith suffered what could be a serious knee injury last week. The fifth-year senior appeared to have injured his ankle at first but later was found to have suffered what could be a ligament tear. He was expected to be a backup split end this season behind Kerry Taylor and Gerell Robinson.

His status for the Ole Miss game is questionable, as he is a game-time decision according to head coach Bobby Petrino. Smith was the Razorbacks' leading rusher in 2008 and a top rusher in 2009.

Senior London Crawford returned to action this week and will start along with fellow senior Lucas Miller and sophomore Jarius Wright, when healthy.

09/02	7:17am	Colby Berna	G	Out For Year	Redshirt	True freshman LG Colby Berna will redshirt this season to recover from offseason shoulder surgery. Berna was listed as the No. 3 LG on the Razorbacks depth chart.
08/26	6:14am	Isaac Madison	CB	Out For Year	Torn ACL	Starting CB Isaac Madison is out for the season with a torn ACL (Aug 17). The junior starter at RCB was second on the team last season with 7 passes broken up and also recorded 38 tackles and 1 interception. Sophomore Greg Gatson immediately replaced Madison, but true freshmen Darius Winston (No. 2 RCB) and David Gordon (No. 3 LCB) are receiving what would be Madison's reps in practice.
08/09	5:25pm	Khiry Battle	LB	Out For Year	Dismissed	Backup LB Battle has been dismissed from the football team after being arrested twice within the span of seven weeks. The sophomore's vacated No. 2 MLB job will most likely be filled by junior Jermaine Love who has nine tackles in two seasons.

08/13	6:21pm	Jarriel Norman	WR	Out For Year	Dismissed	Projected starting receiver Jarriel Norman was booted from the team for conduct detrimental to the team. The senior had one start last year and had an impressive average of 16.4 yards per catch. Outside of senior Jahbari McLennan the Red Wolves have few players with much playing time under their belt.
08/13	6:15pm	Paul Stephens	CB	Out For Year	Dismissed	Senior defensive back Paul Stephens was dismissed from Red Wolves football after his arrest for breaking and entering. He was expected to compete with senior Cordarious Mingo for a starting job in 2009.
08/13	6:14pm	Leroy Trahan	DB	Out For Year	Dismissed	Junior DB Leroy Trahan was dismissed from the team due to conduct detrimental to the team. He was not likely to get much playing time in 2009 as he was buried on the depth chart.

10/23	8:53am	CeDarius Williams	FB	Questionable	Ankle	Williams has not played in nearly a month due to an ankle injury and is questionable to return on Oct. 23 at Rutgers. The starting FB was replaced by slot back Pat Mealy in formations with a fullback. Mealy has become the Black Knights' leading rusher this season.

10/18	10:25am	Drew Cole	S	Questionable	Ankle	Sophomore FS Drew Cole has missed five straight games with an ankle injury and is questionable for the LSU game. Cole sustained the injury during Auburn's SEC opener against Mississippi State. Cole's absence, combined with the preseason injuries to Aairon Savage and Mike McNeil, thins out the Auburn defensive back rotation.
10/18	10:23am	Eltoro Freeman	LB	Probable	Personal	Sophomore LB Eltoro Freeman played sparingly against Kentucky and is probable for the LSU game. Freeman returned from missing the Arkansas game due to personal matters. Freeman is the No. 1 WLB on the depth chart.
10/10	9:50am	Harris Gaston	LB	Out	Undisclosed	True freshman LB Harris Gaston will miss the Arkansas game with an undisclosed ailment, and his status from that point forward is TBD. Head coach Gene Chizik says that Gaston is experiencing "medical issues". Gaston played in the first four games of the season but did not make the trip to Knoxville last week.
10/10	9:25am	Spencer Pybus	LB	Out For Year	Concussion	Sophomore LB Spencer Pybus is likely out for the season according to head coach Gene Chizik. Pybus suffered a concussion in late August and has been held out all season. The reserve LB is the No. 2 WLB on the depth chart behind starter Eltoro Freeman.
09/19	3:05am	Montez Billings	WR	Out For Year	Left team	Senior WR Montez Billings left the team to pursue other opportunities. Billings has already graduated from Auburn University. As the leading returning receiver (24 receptions, 227 receiving yards in 2008), Billings was expected to start again this season and vie for the top receiver slot. His departure leaves a giant hole at WR that needs to be replaced immediately.
08/26	6:27am	Rudy Odom	G	Out For Year	Left team	Senior RG Rudy Odom left the team for the second time this year. The No. 2 RG on the depth chart played in two games last season while struggling through various injuries.
08/22	12:04pm	Aairon Savage	DB	Out For Year	Achilles	Projected starter Aairon Savage tore his Achilles and is out for the season.
08/09	5:45pm	Christian Thompson	S	Out For Year	Left Team	Sophomore safety Thompson has left the football program. It is unclear if he left of his own accord or was dismissed. Thompson played in 10 games in 2008 as a true freshman logging one tackle. He played a bigger role during the spring with starters Zac Etheridge and Mike McNeil limited by injuries.

10/21	9:54am	Kelly Page	QB	Out For Year	Thumb	Page was knocked out of the week seven Bowling Green game with a thumb injury and will miss the remainder of the season. Page suffered a fracture in the knuckle area of his right thumb (throwing hand). Without Page HC Parrish said he was forced to turn to the running game but Ball State was already trailing by 14. Tanner Justice replaced Page in the losing effort and has been named the starter at Eastern Michigan.
09/22	2:19pm	Seth White	WR	Out For Year	Collarbone	White broke his collarbone in the first half against Army and is done for the 2009 season. The injury requires surgery. White started the first two games of the season and was second on the team in receptions going into week three.
09/08	1:52am	Madaris Grant	TE	Out For Year	Knee	Grant tore his ACL in the first quarter of the season opener and will undergo surgery in a couple of weeks. The senior and team captain will petition the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility. After Thursday's loss, HC Parrish said Grant was the one player he couldn't afford to lose. Grant's replacement has not been determined. Sophomore Ryan Hartke, who had never played the position before, filled in Thursday night but was called for a holding penalty that nullified a Ball State touchdown. Freshman Zane Fakes, a converted running back, will compete with Hartke for the starting job.
08/13	2:07am	Derrick Henry	S	Out For Year	Academics	Junior Derrick Henry was expected to provide depth in the Cardinals' secondary but is not with the team because of what coach Stan Parrish termed "academic issues" encountered during the spring semester. Henry finished 2008 with 42 tackles, but he had only 12 in the final seven games. While unable to play regularly on defense, he was regarded as a key performer on special teams.

10/19	8:34am	Jay Finley	RB	Questionable	Quadriceps	Finley is questionable to play on Oct. 24 against OK State due to a quadriceps injury suffered in pre-game warmups prior to Baylor's week seven contest. The starting running back had played sparingly the previous three weeks while working his way back from an ankle sprain. When healthy, Finley leads the Bears ground attack, averaging 8.8 yards per carry, however with him on the shelf, Terance Ganaway and Jarred Salubi will do the bulk of the rushing.
09/28	8:22am	Robert Griffin	QB	Out For Year	Knee	Griffin suffered a torn ACL in week four's win over Northwestern State and will not play again this season. The talented sophomore was initially injured on the first drive of the game when his leg bent awkwardly as he was tackled, but Griffin remained in the game until halftime with his knee heavily wrapped before being removed for good. Griffin was responsible for 28 total touchdowns as a freshman in 2008 and considered the Bears best hope of making a bowl game in 2009. Senior Blake Szymanski, who was the starting QB before Griffin arrived on campus, is slated to take over the starting spot.
09/28	8:21am	Mikail Baker	DB	Out For Year	Knee	Baker is out for the season after tearing his ACL in week four against Northwestern State. The senior defensive back sees action in nickle and dime packages, but perhaps his biggest contributions come on special teams, where he is the Bears top kick returner.
09/21	7:49am	Antareis Bryan	CB	Out	Foot	Starting CB Bryan, the most experienced member of the Bears secondary, is out 6-8 weeks after breaking a bone in his foot during week three's match-up with UConn. Bryan will replaced by the tandem of Clifton Odom and Mikail Baker.

09/26	8:31am	DJ Harper	RB	Out	Knee	Harper likely will miss the rest of the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee in week three. He and fellow junior tailback Jeremy Avery provided 293 rushing yards Friday night at Fresno State. Now, the workload will mostly fall to Avery with sophomore Doug Martin spelling him. HC Peterson said Harper should be able to redshirt this season, giving him two more seasons of eligibility.
09/15	5:17pm	Aaron Burks	WR	Out For Year	Redshirt	True freshman Aaron Burks likely will redshirt unless the Broncos have an injury that forces their hand, HC Petersen said. The Broncos decided to play true freshman wideout Kirby Moore against Miami - filling the one vacant slot in the receiver rotation. Burks was listed on the depth chart for the first two games but didn't play.
08/17	1:02am	Andy Silsby	FB	Out For Year	Knee	Senior fullback Andy Silsby tore an ACL in a softball game and will be out for the year. He will help coach.
08/13	12:31am	Drew Hawkins	QB	Out For Year	Personal	Quarterback-turned-wide receiver Drew Hawkins has left the football program and quit the sport because of a history of concussions. Hawkins sustained his latest concussion in a recreational softball game. He was slated to move to receiver this fall after spending his redshirt year at quarterback. The loss of Hawkins means the Broncos only have two quarterbacks on the roster who have taken a snap in a college practice - sophomore starter Kellen Moore and junior backup Mike Coughlin. True freshmen Mike Tamburo and Joe Southwick will compete for the third-string job.

It has been reported that Momah is healthy enough to play, but the Boston College coaching staff wants to redshirt him (which is why he isn't expected to play the rest of the season barring injury to other WRs). The reserve receiver caught 11 passes in 2008 for 149 yards and 3 touchdowns (second on the team last season).

The ACC Defensive Player of the year is two months into an aggressive chemotherapy plan and will not play in 2009. The cancer gives him a five-percent higher chance of breaking his leg. "If it breaks, the cancer spreads," he said.

The QB position in BC is a bit chaotic. There are six QB's on the roster, NONE of which have taken an in-game snap from under center in their careers. Billy Flutie has played college ball - at wide receiver, punter and holder - but he will only get a handful of chances for "change-of-pace" snaps. Codi Boek played in every game last year, including four starts - at FullBack. The other four candidates are either true freshmen or redshirt freshmen.

08/25	12:57pm	James Starks	RB	Out For Year	Shoulder	Buffalo's chances of repeating as MAC champions suffered a major blow Tuesday when the school announced that star senior running back James Starks will miss the season with a labral tear in his shoulder. Starks is a fifth-year senior and has no eligibility remaining. Starks is the school's all-time leading rusher with 3,140 yards and 34 rushing touchdowns. He has scored the most points (222) of any player in Buffalo's history and ranks fifth in all-purpose yardage with 3,830 yards. In his absence, junior Brandon Thermilus will start. Thermilus rushed 100 times for 454 yards and seven touchdowns as a backup last season.

BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall said after Friday night's practice that the junior, who has undergone five major surgeries in his career, has a rotator cuff tear in his shoulder and will be out between three and five months. RS freshman Marco Thorson will take Speredon's place as the starter.

Hazelton's addition could have given Cincinnati the deepest receiving corps in the Big East. It's why you recruit and train players. You try to get prepared for these moments. You don't want them, but you have to prepare for them." Battle will be replaced by sophomore Justin Houston, who is returning after his two-game suspension.

It is believed that starting RT Clint Boling (seven starts at LT in 2008) could move over to LT to replace Sturdivant.

Jackson, last year's ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year, did not appear in a game this season. He will likely apply for a sixth year of elibigility because he has already used his redshirt year.

At Sailer's 2008 Spring Event by Nike, Enos placed first in field goals and fifth in kickoffs among JC and transfer kickers. Enos was named to the Grid-Wire Preseason All-America third team in 2008.

Both Saenz and Haynes played in all 13 games last year.

The projected starter missed last season when he tore the ACL in his right knee. HC Zook said, "It's a shame. I feel so bad for him. But a year from now, he'll be ready, and we'll get him ready to go. He will have had both shoulders and both knees fixed, so he should be a 'Six Million Dollar Man'."

Robinson is nicked up right now, so expect the reserves to see more carries than normal for Iowa State. Obviously if Blankenship cannot play, that places a lot of strain on Schwartz, the only truly healthy ballcarrier.

Lueken was involved in an offseason incident with former RB Jocques Crawford, who also left the program before the season started. The details of the case haven't been completely revealed.

'Jocques was looking for an opportunity to get more playing time,' Kansas coach Mark Mangino said. 'We support his decision and wish him well.' The JC transfer was listed as the No.2 running back behind senior Jake Sharp who led the team in 2008 with 860 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns.

Clemons was No. 2 at MLB behind senior Jacob Cutrera. That job will now most likely be filled by true freshman Kevin Minter or redshirt freshman Kyle Prater.

In 2009 spring scrimmages, Ross's carries were limited as Steele and Wisconsin transfer Lance Smith received the brunt of the workload.

Shannon said Ojomo, who started three games last year and is one of the bright young stars at defensive end, is out indefinitely. Shannon repeated that Ojomo was not suspended for any reason.

Forston missed the VT game (Sept 26) with a lower extremity (ankle) injury but returned for the Oklahoma game. There is a good chance that he will redshirt this season according to head coach Randy Shannon. Forston was considered the top defensive lineman on the Canes roster and one of the top DLs in the ACC entering the 2009 season, but he has struggled with injuries this season and has yet to record a tackle.

He ranked No.2 at free safety on the depth chart before the suspension.

Brock left school for academic reasons in January and was expected to return in time to play this fall. But he was unable to improve his academic standing enough in the ensuing six months to become eligible. Brock started all 13 games last season after transferring from Mississippi Gulf Coast CC. He finished third on the team with 73 tackles and also had an interception, adding some toughness to a defense that was one of the worst in the nation the year before he arrived.
